110 is used for POP, not SMTP. Check your Mail again. Perhaps 465 or 587?
Yes, 110 is for pop.
In Mail: Port 100 and 995 with SSL
In FMS: Port 25 and 465 with SSL
In FMS, nothing works.
Should I uninstall and reinstall FMS?
Can you go on server and just connect with telnet in terminal to mail server?
Or try sending email via plugin. MBS Plugin has functions for that and can give you a detailed error log for trying to connect.
You need to check SMTP setting of Mail. POP is used for receiving mail, not for sending.
(If the SMTP server use old style POP before SMTP, FMS can't use the server without some help of another software)
When I set up email in a local client using SSL, Pop is 995 and SMTP is 465.
But, the bottom line I would recommend would be to try to get email working using another piece of software first (like may be an email program) so you know the settings.
Thank you for all your reply,
in the meantime, I found the solution, my provider give me another smtp address and it works.
But I have another customer who has also a FMS under OSX with only 1 database and only 3 users.
He would like to use his email address (…@me.com) in his FMS for notifications and using it from a FM script.
The smtp of me.com p26-smtp.mail.me.com seems not working.
Is it possible to use the smtp from me.com?
