          Suresh:

          Thank you for your post.

          Are you entering a local IP Address or an external IP Address for the host?  Can you verify on the working machine the IP Address being used to access the server?

          If you remove the entry and create a new entry, does it work?

          Create a new user account, login to the new user account, launch FileMaker Pro, and see if you re able to connect to the server.

          Keep me updated with any progress.

            I am getting this issue as well on FMA 14.0.5.

            I am on a Mac El Capitan (10.11), 16 RAM, 1TB HD

            I have not done any recent updates to system, FM or Java.

            Just tried Open Remote in the middle of the work day yesterday and there are no files listed.

            Favorites still shows the list, and Open Recent works.

            When I try Open Remote on my MacBook Air El Capitan, FM 14.0.5, they show up.

            So it is a machine specific error.

            But I am unable to add new files.  I have added brand new IPs for hosted FM files, and nothing will show.

            I'm guessing it may be some form of a corrupted Preferences file?

            Any ideas on how I might correct this?

              Thank you for your post.

              Discussing this with two other Support Technicians, none of us have seen this, and I realize this doesn't help you.

              Try removing the Preferences file(s) at:

              [Your user account] -> Library -> Preferences -> com.filemaker.client.advanced.plist

              [Your user account] -> Library -> Preferences -> com.filemaker.client.advanced12.plist

              Optionally, remove all files that begin with com.filemaker.*

              Relaunch FileMaker Pro Advanced and try again.  If this is still an issue, create a new user account, login to the new user account, launch FileMaker Pro Advanced and see if the issue still occurs.  If not, then there is something the original user account.  If the issue still occurs, then I would remove the FileMaker Pro Advanced 14 folder and reinstall.

              Keep me updated with any progress.

                BillMiller,

                Un-check If 'Star' symbol is clicked on your 'Launch Center' and check if it work.. (Ref:Below Picture)

                You Just try this above, then revert if any issue.

                HTH,

                  Deleting the FM prefs files in User/Library/Preferences took care of the problem.

                  Thanks!

                    Yep, that solved it.

                    Just deleted the two files you recommended and restarted FM.

                    All is well now.

                    Thank you!
