are you getting this for ExecuteSQL() ? If so the have a a look at:
Google Filemaker 8309 and you will find some more.
That’s the thread where I started, but I’m not sure that permissions are my problems.
This problem developed after either Yosemite or El Capitan (I’m not sure exactly when it broke) in scripts that create and send multiple emails using SQL for selecting the email addresses. The scripts worked fine before my OS upgrade.
Thanks for your help!
Yes, there is no FM documentation for 8309 and 8310. Both can occur with the SQL plug-ins and ExecuteSQL(). The best explanation was here:
And that's cryptic, too.
If I get these errors, then I look for stupid typos, bad table or column naming, missing commas or semi-colons. Then I use the link that planteg posted to the teamdf blog - that relies on using Data Viewer (only available with FMPro Advanced).
The other thread was resolved with missing (or permissions) on a table. So the query failed.
can you post your query (screen shot is ok)? Perhaps we can help.
Sometimes when you do an OS upgrade, reinstalling FileMaker can help out. Or I do that any time FileMaker acts strange.
What version of FileMaker are you using? If you aren't using the current version 14, you might download a trial and see if it works using version 14.
I know you said you were using SQL to select the addresses, so I will assume you mean FileMaker's ExecuteSQL. Is there any chance you are using a plugin to make the SQL calls? If so, the plugin may need updating. Actually, try turning off any plugins and running the SQL and see if it works.
error code 8309: Incompatible types in assignment. Check your query and field types.
delfs, where if the documentation on this, if any?
If you use the 2EmpowerSQLRunner plugin to run the Query and check its error, that is the response.
