How to Add fields based on its Paired Criteria

    edgardo

      Blessings to all.

I have a Layout that has 60  "pairs" of Fields. One field is a number and the related field is a Binary option. (Either letter "I" or letter "F")

It will look something like this

      Field 1 ( Number)  Field 1  (Letter)

Field 2  (Number)   Field 2 (Letter)

Field 3 (Number)   Field 3 (Letter)

      and so on..... 60 pairs.

@At the end of the layout I have to ADD all fields with Letter I , and all fields with letter F.

Total for all fields numbers with letter I: __________

Total for all fields numbers with letter F:__________

Please provide me with suggestions, Im struggling with this minor issue.

      thanks

Add a child table "pairs_of_results" with the "Key" field, field_text, field_num, and a summary field "cnt_text" = count of field_text.

Now create a record for each entry, 60 in your current requirement.

Go to a layout showing the child table "pairs_of_results".

Find all records for the current records foreign key.

Set the layout to use a subsummary part when sorted by "Key" field and "field_text". Place the "field_text" and the summary field int_text" in the sub summary part.

Now go to preview mode and sort by the "Key" field and the "field_text".

There are many other ways to do this depending on if this is a printable report, needs to be included in the main records display, or some other criteria.
