    How to get a total from multiple summary fields?

    tackermax

      This is a really simple one...

      I have multiple summary totals from many different related tables.  However, if I try to do a sum() calculation of all the fields, nothing shows up.

      I found GetSummary(), but that all has to be on the same table, I believe.  It's just a straight up addition of summary fields from many tables.

      Sum ( Bank_accounts::accts_total;

      Business_Interests::total_business_value;

      Income::total_income_partners;

      insurance::final_benefit_total;

      Money_owed::total_owed;

      Money_owed::anticipated_total_value;

      Money_owed::other_assets_total_value;

      personal_property::total_market_value;

      properties::total_equity;

      retirement_plans::ret_plan_total_value;

      stocks::stock_bonds_investments_total_amount; )

          If you can display them in a form, then you can add them up.

          Try using the Data Viewer and experiment.

          Wouldn't adding the fields directly work for you?

          As in:

          TOTAL_BUSINESS + TOTAL_OWED + .... + TOTAL_NET_WORTH = a number?

            Sum ( Bank_accounts::accts_total;

            Business_Interests::total_business_value;

            Income::total_income_partners;

            Money_owed::total_owed;

            Money_owed::anticipated_total_value;

            Money_owed::other_assets_total_value;

            personal_property::total_market_value;

            properties::total_equity;

            retirement_plans::ret_plan_total_value;

            stocks::stock_bonds_investments_total_amount; )

            Assuming each of the fields in this list is a number field, not a summary, just replace all the semi-colons ( ; ) with a plus ( + ) and delete the final semi-colon.
