Thank you for your post.
Can you describe your "Basic-Classic" theme? That is, what was the original theme used when creating this layout? How many styles? How many objects? etc.
Was the layout that uses this theme created with FileMaker Pro 14 or an earlier version? Do you get the same issue when using Microsoft Internet Explorer?
The image below shows the theme selection from the Layout view:
The theme is the original from FMP12.
22 field boxes in body, 3 fields in header
36 sort buttons (used for ascending/descending sorts for columns) and tooltip set.
4 custom buttons in header
data rows are buttons to switch the layout
Styles: red, green, black text
"bold" is set
"condense" is set for red text
Header: 5 buttons and 1 field
Tab Control (4 tabs)
Tab 1: 51 field boxes
Tab 2: 7 field boxes, 4 portals with ~10 fields each
Tab 3: 1 portal with 7 fields
Tab 4: 2 portals with ~10 fields each
We obtain the following message from Internet Explorer (v11.0.9600.18230) when accessing FMS 14 Web direct:
So, we have used Chrome instead.
Thank you for the information.
The Classic theme was deprecated in FileMaker Pro 13 (FileMaker 13 deprecated features | FileMaker) and it has been removed from FileMaker Pro 14 (FileMaker 14 deprecated and removed features | FileMaker). For those customers using the Classic theme, we encourage moving to a built-in FileMaker 14 theme.
One customer has written an article about moving away from the Classic Theme that you may find helpful:
Internet Explorer 11 is definitely a supported browser for WebDirect, as I primarily use it when testing from a Windows machine. See if you are able to access another database file.
I will implement the new theme on one of the solutions to determine if the issue is resolved.
We now have IE working on our PCs. After some searches, we found the "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" was checked.
The "deprecated" themes appear to include all of the available FMP14 themes except Aspire, Aspire Touch, Basic, and Classic Refined. Should I use only one of those four theme categories? If I choose Classic Refined Cool, will this theme be compatible with WebDirect and at least the next version of FileMaker? Why are themes being phased out?
The deprecated themes means there is no more development on those themes. Using the Aspire, Aspire Touch, Basic and Classic Refined themes are not being deprecated, so they will appear in a future version.
As FileMaker evolves, certain items are not part of the future vision. Therefore, we announce what is being deprecated to allow users to prepare and make adjustments.
