FMI discontinued Bento September 30, 2013. FMI does not update nor support Bento anymore. FMI will help migrate your data from Bento to FM.
I didn't think File Maker supported Calendar/iCal integration and that is why I continued to use Bento.
Oh well, it was worth seeing if there was a solution.
Thanks for your help.
I found a temporary workaround... or maybe not so temporary.
I have installed Bento 3 and it is grabbing the 2016 data from iCal. Not sure why Bento 4 doesn't work anymore but I am happy for the moment that I can do my tax return (I have all my data in iCal and haven't got time to figure out Filemaker at the moment)
Thank you for all your help!
A friend of mine has just asked me to look at the exact same problem you have described on Bento 4. I.e. no entries allowed after 2016. Do you or anyone else know the exact reason it will not allow entries after 2016. I know it is not supported anymore and she has reverted to paper for the last 18 months.
She will probably need to upgrade to FM or something else but if this was a simple fix other than reverting to Bento 3 I would be very grateful. Has something been hard coded somewhere to look at the date or is it a user defined parameter that can be altered.
Thanks to anyone that can shed some more light on this issue.
p.s. can you still get downloadable version 3 from the internet somewhere if we went this root and what steps did you take to install it etc.
I haven't seen any statements from FMI about Bento not working after any time period. FMI has stop support of Bento so it is just a matter of time before Bento stops working.
If you or your friend decide to go with FMP, TS can transfer your data for you.
Here is a link to a Free Trail of FMP16
Thanks for the quick reply. I guess she really needs to go with something else. It has not been in use for her since 2016 so little more time should not matter. Thanks for the link and I can discuss this with her
