who not put this in the idea space where it belongs. Thats where product impovement suggestions should go.
Because it doesn't belong there. Here's what the statement says for the "Product Ideas" area, as it's called: "If you have a feature idea for the FileMaker products please post it here." This is not a "feature idea," and it's not a bug. It is something that works as intended – it's the intention that is off.
I'm not sure how many users using it, but the shortcut is it from oold version of FM.
It may be better to make feature request like "customizable shortcut keys".
Don't you want Command/Ctrl+N as "create new field" ?
shortcuts are messed up )-:
ever hit cmd/ctrl - R to redefine a search? Ever hit this combo while a scripteditor window was active (could happen easily when the screen gots to sleep mode and one clicks to wake-up...)?
happened here.. wrong selection, wanted to redefine the search, a phone-call came in -> boom!
(cmd-R will run the current script when the focus is on the scripteditor)
Feature Ideas are/should be intended to capture all product ideas that do not fall into the bug category. That includes new features, enhancements to existing features, and changes to the behavior of existing features.
I have a whole load of shortcuts defined there too (so handy!), and wasn't sure it would work...have tested it, and while you can change the Date shortcut to something other than Command + D, that still leaves you without a Duplicate command for fields, since there is no actual menu command to assign for field duplication. Still, nice to be able to unhitch the Command + D item, thanks for the idea.
Curious what that Japanese command you have assigned to Ctrl + Command + M does.
FileMaker takes the idea of context too far. Commands should be consistent, regardless of context.
No quotation marks; is this your opinion, or is it posted somewhere? And if so, where?
I have to make the name of the menu identical perfectly, so forJapanese-language environment both of them for English societies is registered.
It seems not written in help, but buttons have shortcut on Windows
Under line shows "alt + e" for "Create", etc.
So, using some tools like "AutoIt" AutoIt - AutoIt you can do "Duplicate" with ctrl + d.
If WinActive("Manage Database") Then
Send("!u") ; Alt+U
