Windows Sizing when Showing the Toolbar

    Fred(CH)

Product and version (e.g. FileMaker Pro 14.0.3)

      FileMaker Pro 14.0.5 and 13.0.4

      OS and version

      OS X 10.10.5

      Hardware

      iMac Retina 5K 27'' late 2014

      Description

When the user is showing the Toolbar (or by script), FileMaker Pro try to increase the Window's height in order to keep the same Content's height; however it fails by missing 25 pixels.

      How to replicate

Go to a reasonably small layout in order to be able to see all its content without any scrolling

      Hide the FileMaker's toolbar

Be sure to be in Form view

Resize the windows to fit the content (alt+green windows button).

Open the Data Viewer and watch the expression Get (WindowsContentHeight)

At this point you should be able to view of the entire layout content and, write down the value.

      Show FileMaker's Toolbar

NOTE : Under Windows plateform, FileMaker even doesn't try to adjust the windows height and thus, the user lose a lot of space (80 pixels) when he decide to show the toolbar. Because i am also lazy, il give up to create a specific bug report for this side.

      Workaround (if any)

I try to preserve in most situations the same worskpace for the user and it is painful with and without the toolbar. One have to use his own scripts and use Custom Menu; Then one have to correct FileMaker bugs by adding / substracting a value that is specific to the plateform (see above).
