Maybe loading the PDF content into a webviewer, but I'm not sure that would work for you.
What's the PDF look like? Is it something that you might just be able to take a screenshot of and paste an image into a filemaker layout?
The 2 pdf's are 'eBooks' that are best if you can interact with their hyperlinks. So I'm assuming I'd need the interactive container field.
I am guessing that because what I need is location of the pdf dialogue box when it's displayed in FM, rather than a pdf viewer, whatever script/ code is written, it will be working via OSX's Applescript/ Window cmd.exe.........sadly, I've not a clue how to start!
But are there photos or forms in the ebooks?
If it's just plain (or plain-ish) text, you could just load the text into a webviewer, and even hyperlink the necessary links out.
Try something like this:
If you convert the PDF to HTML and it looks acceptable, than I'd think the webviewer content display is definitely viable for you.
The eBooks originate in OpenOffice Writer so, in principle, I can convert to HTML. However, will using a webviewer prevent users from exporting the eBook? I suppose they can copy/paste but I'm less worried by that than a 'convenient digital theft'.
