    OnTimerScript disturbs scripting in fm14

      fm14

While writing scripts a problem can occur when an ontimerscript script is triggered (in the current file or even in a different file).

      This causes the following problems:

      1. the current script step seems to be incorrectly committed:
      2. the current input is forgotten (for example text in a comment)
      3. the current script step seems to enter a state where it cannot be correctly reedited (BUG!):
      4. clicking the script step (comment) does not activate the comment input box
      5. you seem have to delete the step and reenter it

May already be resolved in future FM versions.

Just to clarify, to reproduce this, you would:

          1. Run a script that installs an OnTimer script in File1.

          2. Create a new file File2 and start writing a script.

          3. When the script in File1 runs, you get one of the issues listed in File2

OK, I can confirm this issue (at least instance 2). I'm more glad than ever that I basically never work on live files... this one can certainly cause some very bad results if it happens at the wrong time & place.

              Thank you for your post.

Our Development and Testing departments are aware that any active OnTimer script is not paused when editing a script.  Symptoms also include losing focus of the cursor and edited text reverting to previous version.  It is recommended that you stop any active OnTimer script before making changes in the Script Workspace.

Regardless, I have attached this forum thread to the original report.  When more information becomes available, I will post again.
