Assuming you host on filemaker server and use desktop clients to connect, then really there shouldn't be any problem with five locations.

By far, I usually see people hitting walls with their hardware (disk space, ram and processor power) on their filemaker server LONG before they hit the record limits of what filemaker can handle, EG:
-8tb per file
-64 quadrillion records per table
There is a big difference between what is needed for 10 users, slightly more for 100 users, very much more for 1000 users.
Make sure to talk to a licensing rep. It might make sense for your company to get on AVLA so that you stay current for all of your users and don't lock yourself into a pricey one time upgrade later when you want to roll out new hardware company-wide.
