Hi, I make a bluetooth device that is connected to a FileMaker server.
I use an iOS app to talk to the bluetooth device, that app then talks to FileMaker Server via PHP.
If you want any more details on the app or my device let me know.
Are you using this with a FileMaker Server like CarlSchwarz suggest or is this a stand alone application? Obviously the operating system you are on is going to have to support connecting to the Bluetooth device and having an appropriate driver, etc. Are you able to connect to the Bluetooth device? At this point, you can start to have the two devices talk together. Do you have some documentation on the Safety Tester that tells how it communicates over Bluetooth? CarlSchwarz talks about a device that supports making PHP calls to FMS's Custom Web Publishing. What is the tester brand and model? You will need to know more about what communication methods it supports before trying to bridge the communication from FileMaker. But it is probably doable. Just give us more info including your operating system, FM version, how you are hosting it, and the info on your tester.
I am using FileMaker Server 14 to host the FM Database.
And we use AirConsole Serial Adapter that connects with the safety Tester over Bluetooth.
My aim would be to get the FM database connect to the AirConsole Serial Adapter over Bluetooth,
thus Airconsole being a buffer between the FM Database and Safety Tester.
The Airconsole details are found at Airconsole - the only Serial Adaptor you'll ever need - Get Console Shop
