FileMaker 14 came out in May 2015 and the Certification test didn't come out until I think October of 2015. Being that FM has said its goal is to release versions once a year, waiting until October was 5 months after release or almost half way through the FM 14 cycle. I like to show my clients that I am certified in the current version. I can always explain that the current version is not out yet, but would prefer that it was made available not too long after the software release. I'm hoping that FM will look at getting the FM certification exams out earlier for 15 than they did for 14.
Then again maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture and maybe the purpose of a long delay was to give people more time and experience with 14 before having to take a test to get certified. After all, it is a difficult test for most people. What do you guys think? Should they release the certification exam more quickly for 15?
