I have a few clients who have been waiting for a bug fix for some time, and we're hoping v15 solves the issue. I'll have to get a client to install 15 and see what happens.
Odd how this wonderful feature that completely fails for many clients was not addressed in 14 and of apparent little concern in 15. Was this answered on another thread?
I've tested FileMaker 15 advanced with Windows 10 and office 2016, all installed on 64 bit and that works fine.
We did an clean office install, so no upgrade.
I believe most of the issues were using different versions of the software such as 64bit FM with 32bit Outlook. If you use all 64bit or all 32bit you should not have any issues. I doubt if a enough users have tested this yet. I have not seen any post about any issues.
schamblee, Yes, this is clearly the original 32- 64-bit issue. But I'm working with a couple of large installs that have strict install policies, so there's no way we can install 64-bit Outlook on all of those PCs. We can possibly get permission to install FMP 16 on one user's machine, but I'd rather wait to hear from FileMaker if this has been resolved.
I guess you meant FMP 15, 16 has not been release.
This is not a FM issue. It is a issue of mixing 32bit software with 64bit software. If the computer has 32bit version of Outlook then use 32bit version of FM. If the computer has 64bit version of Outlook then use 64bit version of FM. When you purchase FM it comes with 64bit MAC version, 32bit Windows version, and 64bit Windows version.
My understanding is that you must install the same bit version of FMP and your OS.
Have you installed 32-bit FMP on a 64-bit OS?
32bit software will run on 64bit OS. 64bit software will not run on 32bit OS.
Yes, I have ran 32bit FMP on 64bit OS.
64bit version of Windows has Program Files and Program Files (x86). The Program Files contains 64bit software. Program Files (x86) contains 32bit software.
From my experience the issue is not with the operating system bit rate, Filemaker and Microsoft Office need to have matching rates.
I recommend my clients install 32 Bit Filemaker and 32 Bit Office and we do not have problems.
Now 15 is around I may do some further testing to see if you can mix and match bit rates between the apps.
Windows has a much larger installed base of Filemaker than Mac, and it disappoints me that our user base seems to be treated as the lower class in the Filemaker development hierarchy.

Yes, you are correct and as I stated in a prior post 32bit outlook (office) with 32bit FM or 64bit outlook (office) with 64bit FM.
To add two attachments, my colleague wrote an vbscript and execute it in an fmscript.
When we updated the first PC with outlook 32 bit to FM14 64bit we had the same problem with sending mail but the script with the two attachments worked fine.
So if it's not possible to update outlook to 32 bit the problem can be solved by writing an vbscribt an execute it in an filemaker script.
You're wight it isn't a Filemaker problem, other programs installed on 64bit act also have errors sending mail with an 32 bit outlook.
Yes, you had problems because the programs were different versions. vbscript is not part of FM it is part of the MS software, so yes it should work. FM allow you to call vbscripts.
FM only supports both programs being the same version, either both 32bit or both 64bit.
