Mine is also on Windows (10 pro). I've removed all the adobe acrobat/reader stuff and run an extra clear tool from adobe Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs After this I installed first reader (XI/11) but result in same problem. Then removed it, run the cleaner and installed acrobat. Unfortunately this didn't work also.
Now when opening a form with a active (pdf) container, it still opens adobe and shows the pdf file.
I've send this problem to the filemaker support desk and hope for an answer in the morning.
If so, i will let you guys now.
Check the add-on "Adobe Reader" is enabled in
Internet option > programs > manage add-on

I have the problem solved !
First I removed all the adobe acrobat/reader software, run the cleaner tool (mentioned above).
Then run the reader installer and make sure it is the default (and only) viewer.
Then run the acrobat and make sure while installing this is NOT the default viewer. Afterwards when you open a pdf acrobat asks again to make it the default viewer. remove the question and disable it.
After this, it works all fine !
