What is a Server 15 "paused file?"

    DavidMoore

Just kicking the tires here, and find it difficult to connect to files that are "paused" in Server 15.

What's the deal with them, and is there a way to circumvent this behavior in Server 15?

Relying once again on the kindness of strangers...thanks

Pausing on FileMaker Server temporarily stops access to one or more open databases with Normal status. Connected clients can read data from the database while it is paused, but cannot modify the database until the database is resumed. For example, you can pause a database and safely use the operating system to make a copy of the file.

You can unpause a database through the FileMaker Server Admin Console (assuming you have admin access)

A paused file is one that you can connect to because it is paused not closed. You can read data from it but not modify it.

I think you will find a fuller answer here.

I'm seeing several occasions where several files on FMS 15.0.1 are being paused without my making that happen via the Admin Console.  Is this an indication of some trouble brewing with the served files.??

Or, is there some problem with the installation of FMS 15 on this machine?
