it's possible to hide url address when user access my database via webdirect ? because i don't want them can see or copy and paste my url address.
Users can't access without knowing the URL.
then show the fake url ? background still running the real url, you think can ?
No, browser know the URL so user also can dig it.
What is the purpose to hiding url? There is only server host and database name.
i planning to create start file. when they choose system on drop down menu and click login. will direct go to webdirect. i want them to use start file. not direct copy paste the url address
+ 1. There are ways to get the URL, even if you try to hide it, once a user is ON a web page.
but how to hide it ? need to put some script in my DB ? OR ?
What do you mean "start file", some web page work outside of webdirect, or FM file shared with webdirect on same host?
On latter, hostname in the URL is already open (not hidden), so you want to hide database name, do you?
You can't hide it, but may be able to deny open the database other than log in "start file", using onFirstWindowOpen trigger script in each file you want to "hide".
Start File. we create some function user need to choose the database on dropdown menu. when they choose, it will direct to webdirect "google/safari".
i want to hide url address or lock it. not the databse name
Sorry not clear for me, it sounds like your start file is a HTML file on each user, or runtime made by FM.
Anyway, you can't hide url while users are opening the database in webdirect.
You cannot hide it. It will be in the code is some way that the browser can read it and go to correct location. Even the "redirect URLs" (such as to shorten a link) eventually get to the right place. If the browser can find it, the user may be able to find it. "Security-by-obscurity" is NOT security.
What are you trying to hide?
