The favorite does not show in the launch center, if there are no favorite selected. Under File, click Open Favorite, then manage favorites, then add a database to your favorites. When you restart FMP15 you will see your favorites in the launch center.

In FMPa 15 Launch center I don't understand anymore the point to "star" files, because I can't find anymore the favorite filter.
Oh ok, it's in MySolutions, with also recent files, but I think it's not exactly the same thing as before, not the same usage, less powerful I think
Anyway, I find this change rather odd
The "star" button was removed from FileMaker Pro 15 as it caused some users to think they didn't have any files hosted when the button was "accidentally" pressed when no files had been marked as favorites.
We are evaluating other ways to bring back this functionality that is more functional. In the meantime, the other methods discussed work in the absence of the "star" button.
It certainly makes sense, because I've been hit by the "no file anymore" a LOT of time, but enough to ultimately grasp it, and then use it correctly.
So yes I understand your concern and hope you can find something that works for all
but this just indicates a bad user interface.. IMHO, it's a too easy solution to strip that
That said, we been also called by customers because of 'no files', but to have a favorite is not bad
Surely the way to go is that the favourites is NOT sticky. IT should be off by default, and used as a way to reduce a large number of files to list of 'favourites'
Thought about it, but in fact I like it sticky
