External Container Storage Folder Retains Original File name after cloning

    Ben

Using FileMaker Pro Advanced 14 ( on a MacBook )

This is a curiosity, but does have some implications when organising externally stored open (non-secure) files in container fields

      An example:

      I have a solution "template1.fmp12"

it has 1 container field using open storage.

FileMaker creates a parent folder for the files called "template1" (the name of the filemaker file) in the same location as template1.fmp12

      I now clone template1.fmp12 to a new file: solution1.fmp12.

As soon as I add a file to a container field in a record FileMaker creates a parent folder for the files called "template1/" (NOT the name of the filemaker file) in the same location as solution1.fmp12

      I now have:

template1.fmp12 with a folder for container files called template1/

      and

solution1.fmp12 with a folder for container files called template1/

I would like to change the name of the parent folder or at least for it to be the name of the filemaker file, not the name of the original filemaker file. It would be useful to be able to do this for example for backups, scripts and maintaining an organised folder structure.

This is not a major problem, but it is an annoyance. Is there a way to fix this behaviour? Any comments welcome ;-)
