FileMaker is completely cross-platform. If you're using .fmp12 files on Windows, they'll be perfectly usable on a Mac running FileMaker 14.
The system requirements for various versions are here:
The last version certified to work with Snow Leopard is 12. Newer versions may run okay, but FileMaker won't guarantee it.
Perhaps an OS upgrade is in order?
Mike thanks for the reply. Actually a hardware upgrade is what's in order. Snow Leopard is the highest OS my machine can run.
If I were to install version 12 on my Mac, is there a way to downward-migrate my level 14 files? (I'm assuming no)
The .fmp12 format will work fine. The only catch is if you’ve used any features in your file since 12. Those will not render properly, or at all. Examples:
- Slide controls
- Hide Object When
- Styles and themes (may work partially, but you can’t select styles)
The other difficulty is getting a copy of v12 for Mac. I don’t know if FileMaker offers a downgrade that far; check with Sales.

My files were upgraded from 10, and I haven't used any new features so I'm ok there. Sounds like I will just need to locate a copy of 12 for the Mac.
Thanks for the help. Now I know what to look for.
