actually it was the privilegues set. just had to logoff and in again. Which privilegues set setting do I need to change to let the users se the portal ?

you need to check the security settings that apply to the table that is being shown in the portal...
thanks for your input. What is usually the setting for the users? Does this mean that they can edit and create new records in every table and layout, but not do administrative changes to the app? :
Records: Create and edit in all tables
Layouts: All view only
Value list: All view only
Scripts: All executive only
sound like a fairly common setting for users... it really depends on your requirements.
Just be sure to check that all tables are set up in a similar way
