I am new to Filemaker. I had searched many tutorials but no success. I want to connect and display data from mysql database. Please guide me how??
Mac or PC??
If Mac you need the drivers from ActualTech, and then in both cases you need to set up an ODBC DSN to the file.
I suggest investing in the FileMaker Training Series Advanced which gives very clear instructions.

Ensure you have remote connections available/enabled wherever your MySQL database is. You may also need to whitelist the IP addresses that will access the database. Usually this is just the IP address of your FMS.
@jrenfrew:: I am using Windows. Beside ODBC DSN is there any other way??? Because my experience with OBDC is not that much good. It delays read and write from database.
Well the other way is with a plug-in. I have written my own SQL function in ScriptMaster to both pull and push data to a MySQL table behind a website.
But then you have to take responsibility for puling new or amended records into your FM system.
Either way there is a technical debt and effort involved, and maybe perceived time lag.
You need to test each and every possibility if you are worried about speed.

The actual connection between the servers matters. With a decent connection you should see data updated sub one second most of the time.
