I have added a empty value in a field that is used by a valuelist. The reason is that it should be possible to undo the value, to set it back to empty. How to do this? the selectlist seems to overlook the empty values.
Value lists are based on the index of the field and empties do not count.
Why not give the user a small "delete" button (an 'x' will do if you don't have much space) that will clear out the field?
Okey. a delete button would not be possible. Possible to do a clear in the selectlist?

An alternate method would be to have an entry in your list that says "<empty>" and then use an auto-enter calc on the target field to set the field to "" when it detects "<empty>".
I tend to:
1) teach the users how to Delete the selection - select and while selected, click the Del key on the keyboard
2) provide a button with "Clear" text that performs:
Set Field ( myField ; "" // this will clear the field )
