If you like to copy your data to another table, why not just do
Set Variable ($File ; filemac/filewin : TemporaryPath : filename )
Export records ($File)
Go to other layouter
Import Records ($file)
I do a similar thing. My solution is simply to have a projectID field in the line items table. When the project record is created I add the projectID to the relevant line item records. Additionally, I have matching detail fields which enable me to show changes between actual v quoted data (e.g. amount quoted $300, actual amount $350). This way the same set of line item records can relate to both the quote and the project.
OK, first thank you!
So when you take the quote and make it a project do you loop through the found set (in the line items table) and place a new ProjectID in each of the quotes fk_projectid field? (Since some will not become projects) or is this something that is created as the quote is created?
So you would export from the first table (one record) write to file, export found set on the Quote line items table, and then import then into the new tables?
Do you know if this will work on FM Go? Would it have to be a server side script?
