    WebDirect Pop-Block Warning Cannot be turned off

    msawyer

      Product and version FMServer 15

      OS and version FM Server = Yosemite 10.5.5

      Clients = IOS 9.32, OSX 10.11.5, Windows Server 2012R2 (Uses as Terminal Server)

      Browser and version (for WebDirect only) IOS Safari and Chrome 51 on PC and Safari 9.1.1

      Hardware iPAD Air 2, MacBook Pro and Windows Server 2012.

      Description When selecting a container for download the POP blocker window appears even if that setting is turned off in the browser.

      How to replicate: Set up a container and script an opener; I can also provide you access to a test profile on the solution.

      Workaround (if any) On a desktop browser it appears to ignore the warning window and open up, not so on an IOS device.

      See various screenshots. Showing warning and the settings page.

          Thank you for your post.

          Pop-ups should be disabled.  In your first PDF, you show "Allow all sites to show pop-ups", and the second PDF shows "Block pop-up windows" disabled.

          See page 22 of the FileMaker 15 WebDirect Guide:

          "Pop-up blockers: Tell web users how to disable their browser’s pop-up blocker. Some pop-up blockers prevent FileMaker WebDirect from sending mail, opening URLs via the Open URL script step, opening FileMaker WebDirect Help, and providing feedback to FileMaker, Inc."

            Hi

            Find your response confusing.

            In both example block up poppers are disabled, yet in web direct the warning still appears.

            This is a bug surely it cannot be expected behaviour.

            To re-iterate the warning occurs when pop up blockers are disabled.

            Thanks

            Matt

              Again, in your first PDF, you have pop-ups enabled; not disabled.  Instead of having "All all sites to show pop-ups", change it to "Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended)".  In the second PDF, be sure to enable "Block pop-up windows".

                I am sorry but I am not letting this go.  It doesn't matter which setting you have in Chrome the warning comes up.

                It seems crazy that the warning comes up, if the you do not have the pop up blocker selected.

                  Below are my screen shots for exporting the same Container field in Chrome 51 and Safari 9.1.1.  I have pop-ups disabled.

                    Did you run this on a local machine. In other words was it run inside the same network on a local machine. Script I am using is below:

                    Case(

                    Abs(Get ( SystemPlatform ))=2;

                    "filewin:"&Get ( TemporaryPath )&GetContainerAttribute ( OT_Images_Details::con_Document;"filename")

                    ;

                    Abs(Get ( SystemPlatform ))=1;

                    "filemac:"&Get ( TemporaryPath )&GetContainerAttribute ( OT_Images_Details::con_Document;"filename")

                    ;

                    Abs(Get ( SystemPlatform ))=3;

                    "file:"&Get ( DocumentsPath )&GetContainerAttribute ( OT_Images_Details::con_Document;"filename")

                    ;

                    "file:"&GetContainerAttribute (OT_Images_Details::con_Document;"filename")

                    )

                    All tests have been done using remote machines.

                      It's hard to tell exactly what you are doing in the script. What you posted above looks like a calculation from it, but doesn't include any script steps.

                      Have you been able to reproduce this in a test file?

                      Does this issue occur when simply doing an export rather than running a script?
