How to make the text baselines show, even when the field is active? This is in a scrolling edit box, FMPA 14, Windows
That is typical behavior when entering data. Almost all of the formatting drops so the data is more consistent. Some good things about it, some not so good. Depending on what you are trying to do.
My next question is, what are you using the text baselines for? How are they helping by being on during data entry?
Joshua, the baselines being there just keep a consistent look to what our users are accustomed to. Our old database that uses uses repeating fields show the baselines all the time, sort of like an "Excel" look. I was hoping to keep it that way in this modified version of the same data-input layout, except it uses one large scrollable edit box instead. But if there's no way to turn them on while the field is active, I can live with that.
here a trick
OK, so it looks like you have two fields on top of one another. So exactly what is going on? Is one set to a transparent bg color?
the top one has the In Focus state Fill set to none.
That's pretty cool. I like it.
I added a scroll bar and fixed the back one for the case you scroll (text color set to none) - please download again attachment.
Yes, the scrolling isn't exactly what I was hoping for. The lines stay stationary, and the scrolling text moves on top of it. I think I'm just going to leave my original alone, and live with it.
Sell it as a "redesign to match modern design standards"!!
HAA! Yes. The original file was designed in FM5, for paper. Ew.
