Have a field that is a drop down using auto complete. It pulls from a value list that uses two fields, name and address. But once you start typing it only auto completes, the name, not the address.
Any known work arounds for this?
The purpose of showing the second field in a value list is not to enter both fields. Normally, you would use it if you were putting parent or child ID's into a field, but needed the second field (like a person's name) to make sure you select the correct ID. You would see the name you wanted, but it is only the ID that goes into the field. If you want the field to show both name and address, create a calculation that concatenates the two, such as "Name" & ", " & Address. Then use that field for your value list and both name and address will go into your field.
Yes. It is a process.
Dropdown, pop-up problem
This topic has an explanation and a sample file showing how this works in a portal row. The process is the same without the portal. You need a pop-up and a drop down together. I like to call it the Pop-Drop.
Looks like I misread you question. In this case you will need to specify the auto complete using the name or address. Not both together.
Your only option might be to have a special Value list table that store the names and addresses in the same field?
How exactly are you using this?
