Finding records based on contents of several fields

Here is a brief explanation of what I want to do:  I am building a database of famous Freemasons.  Active Masons were often members of several lodges.

I have a table of Historic Lodges and on the layout I have a portal that I want to list all the names of the men from the Famous Masons table that were a member of that lodge.

So the first question is, in the Mason Table should I have say 3 individual fields for member lodges or one field that has 3 repetitions?  The second question is how do I build the portal on the Lodge layout that includes all Masons whose record contains the associated Lodge ID in any of the three fields/repetitions for member Lodges?

Is this where the repetitions can really solve a problem.  If the portal is related to a field with 3 repetitions, will it select if the searched for data is in any of the 3 occurrences?

Hope I explained it clearly enough to make sense.

thanks,

Bill
