Received this error when stepping through a script. Never seen anything like it before, so has anyone else had this happen?
Just so you know, there's no storage space issues on my client or server...
Do you have the log from FMServer for that approx time the error occured?
Also, I found several threads on this forum. Search for this (upper right corner, magnifying glass):
FMS temporary file could not be created
googling for '.fch Filemaler' I got:
FMP15 Backward Relationship Error
FM Pro 220.127.116.11 Error Message: Temporary file cannot be created.
The second one is very long. See the last post from TSGal(with FileMaker Inc.). They are aware of the issue, and people seems to thing it's tied to the OS, OS X in that case, but you are running Windows. Hope TSGalwill chime in !
agreed to get TSGal involved if it is the same issue!
Creative, once you read the threads, you may wish to add your comments there as well.
It could be a Windows User issue. If the Windows User does not have permission to write to the folder then you can receive that type message.
Thank you for your post.
As mentioned in the other posts, our Development and Testing departments are aware of this issue.
Reviewing the notes from Testing (which are a bit cryptic), it looks like this issue can be caused by a multi-file solution when a database file references another file by IP Address. The issue did not occur when the file reference was changed to "file:". Another note says closing the local file releases the cached temp file.
In your screen shot, you show Error 401 (No records match the request), so this may be a different issue. What is the Find criteria you are using? Does your layout reference any other file?
Regardless, I have attached your post to the original issue. When more information becomes available, I will post again.
It happened again further down the script on an import step. After I clicked 'OK' on the error message (same as was in the first screenshot), the last error was 801:
I restarted the machine and haven't seen the error again, but I'll report back if I do.
Thanks everyone for your help so far!
