What is the scripting language that Filemaker uses?
internal. Not any other code/language that I've seen, although, it may have similarities.
Think of the steps as lines in a batch file?
Be sure to do some benchmarking of any scripts that can potentially take a lot of time. Some of those scripts may be better executed as FMPA custom functions or even in an externally-called program.
Using JSON in filemaker
Using FM scripting and or a webviewer you have many options.
absolutely, schamblee! using anything "external" to FM native methods can provide other options! The actual "language" of ScriptMaker (ScriptWorkspace) is not equal to anything else I've seen (but close on several points)
And sadly, about as fast as a batch file...
What is ?
If you are not talking about FM scripting then ignore my post.
FM scripting is like any coding language, there are several ways to get things done, but you have to know how to optimize your code and which script steps to use or not use. As already been mention in a previous post, you may need to use a custom function or another method you have not though about.
FM is used in all kinds of large businesses with 100's of users.
If you have a script that is running slow, then post it to this forum (New discussion of course) and ask for ways to make it faster. Another great reason to be part of this community.
