I have a client who developed this same problem a few days ago except they run FMS on a Mac mini.

What errors are they getting?
Straight up 500 or 404 browser errors? Or a partially loaded WebDirect session?
All WAN users or just some users?
If they just type in the DNS or IP address of the server, does the filemaker server homepage come up (port 80 check)?
The obvious place to start would be to disable antivirus and firewall to see if that corrects the issue, then work your way back.

Always have a dedicated FMS without Antivirus software searching in area where you have your live databases. Also make sure your OS not are indexing on same folders.
Just a popup screen titled (maybe not the exact words my translation from French): "Communication error" then a message "Take note of unrecorded data, then close browser window and contact your FileMaker Server administrator"
