Many times in development I need to kill a running script. The FM help person advised exiting FM and reopen but this seems very crude.
Is there a more elegant method?
If you have FMA you can open the Script Debugger. First time you open it the script should stop on the current step. If you close it and open again it won't stop. In that case set a breakpoint by clicking a line of code that will be processed.
The Tools menu may be slow to open so be patient. Click the Tools menu and wait for the menu items to drop down. Then click the Script Debugger selection.
If the script has an Allow User Abort [ off ] script step then there isn't much you can do.
Otherwise, you can press Esc (or Command-period on a Mac) to abort the script.
