Not that I'm aware of. The dots are elements of the slide control object, not independent objects in their own right.
Perhaps you can use a button bar or series of buttons to indicate what you want (mimicking a tab control, but without the tabs).
Or you can use a slide control, but with no dots. You then replace the dots with your own buttons. Perhaps that's what Mike has in mind here.
The buttons can use go to object to go to other panels of the slid control if you give each panel an object name.

I've got button bar and slide panel. Each button conditionally changes background color depending on "empty" in the corresponding slide panel. The user can see what tab/slide is incomplete without clicking through them all.
