you can export from a List or Form view as well. is there a reason to use Table View for the export?

having so many fields in a table is usually a clue that your database structure is not optimal.
But apart from that, this statement is incorrect:
In order to export records I need to have layouts with all the fields available.
What you may be misled by is the default value of the dropdown on the left of the export record dialog : Current layout.
Simply select Current table and all the fields are there.
Thanks. No particular reason, other than being accustomed to looking at data in a spreadsheet style! But by using a form layout I didn't seem to have any trouble, so thanks!
Indeed, I don't doubt that we could find more efficient ways of structuring things, but you know how it goes- the deeper you go, the harder it becomes to blow everything up and change direction...
Your response worked great- I was just toying with this and exporting records manually, but I should've realized that in the script step it can just grab all the fields. Thanks!
