Install OnTimer Script on the entire session?

    carlsson

I have two questions about the Install OnTimer Script function:

      1. If I want a script to be active during the entire session, will it work if I put it on the "First Window Open" Script Trigger?

As it is now it works as long as one of the layouts are open, but if the user switches to another layout the Timer stops (right?).

Example: I have a script that checks for reminders in a separate table. If it falls within the time, a dialogue pops up. It works as expected as long as the user is in the main layout.

However, the users have a lot of different windows open and not always the main one. So i would like the OnTimer to work as long as the user is connected to the database.

      2. Is it possible to have several OnTimers active at the same time? Eg one that checks for reminders, and one that commits the records.

In you Trigger OnFirstWindowOpen you should start you OnTimer script

You can have as many as you want to, but each one have to finish before the next start

               Meaning

OnTimer 1 take 3 sec and you want it to start every 10 sec

OnTimer 2 take 5 sec and you want it to start every 15 sec

OnTimer 3 take 7 sec and you want it to start every 30 sec

OnTimer 1 start and take 3 sec

OnTimer 2 start and take 5 sec

OnTimer 3 start and take 7 sec and OnTimer 1 have to wait until OnTimer 3 have finished
