Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Insert From URL script step using a different port number instead of the default port 80?
Thanks in advance.
You can absolutely specify the port number!
I have an INSERT URL script step that calls a web service running on Tomcat.
That URL includes the port 8080.
As a first step try to use the URL the same way you would use it in, say, the browser.
HOPE THIS HELPS.
Can't you just add the port to the url address, similar to when you call server admin console?
Yes, that syntax works fine and is exactly what I was trying to get across in my post above.
(I use this all the time with both GET and POST requests.)
Thanks for the clarifying example.
a tutorial on URL syntax, perhaps?

It turns out, you can use a different port no. as Nicolai had suggested. Only that someone gave me the wrong URL.
Thanks for the responses.
