do you have a script set up to email yet? if so, can you post it?
why do you need PlaceHolder text and what does that have to do with export?
A way is "Go to Related Records" then simply do it on layout of table in portal.
There is special meaning for "placefolder" in FM, that is showing text in empty field, different than you mean.
I think I translated badly from german into english. In german it called placeholder, which means if I insert static text, i can user <<table::field>> and it displays the data of that field.
I'm asking myself if there is a way that <<table::field>> shows all the related records which are shown in the portal
If a list of the related values will do ... e.g. a list of fruits::name related by type "citrus" might look like
... then you could do the following:
- in the parent table, create a calculated field that equals List(relatedTable::field). Just use this calculated field on your layout.
I thought he want to make mails for each recipient, but it might be misreading, in the thread title the number of portal rows is limited at 4.
gilo! feel free to post both languages to this forum. Many of us are multi-lingual and/or can use Google translate effectively.
the <<__>> is a Merge Field
to get related data, you must use a related field. However, a single merge field (related) only shows the FIRST value (as sorted in the relationship). you must "gather" the related records in some way.
can get you a return-delimited set of related field contents, as David points out. If you happen to have return(s) in the fields, this may not work for you. If you need to comma-separate and there are no other returns:
Substitute( List ( table::field ); char(13) ; ", " )
and I'm still not quite sure what you are asking. try posting in your native language, too?
Native Language will be very difficult, as there only ±250.000 persons left talking luxemburgish, and most of them do not know filemaker ;-)
Ok thank you guys, I think I can make up a solution with your help
