what is it that you are trying to achieve, what is the 'desired effect'?
You need creating new record to get current value if use stored calculation.

Currently SnapShot and call back links are generated when users make certain changes in records for other users and admin to monitor via email with those links taking the monitor back to the specific record(s) to proceed from there.
Thing is the links currently use the LAN IP for the server if generated 'internally' and the WAN IP if generated externally... I want to be able to either, include both WAN/LAN IPs if required or either depending on user/monitor context. I thought requesting the HostIP would return the WANip so that links would work regardless of internal/external context.

I have not found a better way to evaluate WAN-IP yet than using a website. This would probably work best as PSoS.
Insert from URL [Select ; With dialog: Off ; MyTable::myIP_globalField; "http://www.whatsmyip.net"]
Set Field [ MyTable::myIP_globalField;
getbetween ( Stp_Legends::my_IP ; "value=" ; 1 ; " />" )
; "\""; "")
