FMI states (FileMaker Server 15 Technical Specifications | FileMaker )

To maintain an optimal operating environment, FileMaker Server requires 80 GB or more of storage on the operating system drive even if apps are hosted on or backed up to another drive.

On AWS, where FMS + Windows will fit on a 30GB volumes, 50 extra GB is an extra $5/month per server.  Not huge, but it adds up.  Does the community have an extra info/input on this 80GB requirement?

In my own case, I have found no detectable performance decrease from using a 30GB root drive.  Does anyone have any objections to not observing this particular recommendation?
