Is this possible?/ Can I get some guidance on how to go about doing this?
Thank you for your post!
You might check out the new FileMaker Cloud that runs on an AWS Instance. You can even use an existing FileMaker Server 15 license with the BYOL (Bring your own license) option.

Oh wow looks like it just launched. I'll have to check into that. My company already has an amazon work space subscription so it would make it easier if we could use that to host the server. I just am not sure if that is possible.
There are people running FileMaker Server 15 on AWS instances. You mainly want to verify that the instance meets the System Requirements for FileMaker Server 15 (Compatible Operating System, Proper Hardware, etc). You may also have to open up Ports used by FileMaker Server such as Port 80/443 and 5003 depending on your needs.
I hope this helps!
You would not want to run FM Server in WorkSpaces. You can run FM Server or FM Cloud on an EC2 instance, and then use WorkSpaces to run FM Pro and access the hosted files.
If running in the same region and everything, you basically cut out all network latency, and it makes for a great experience.
Hope this helps
Awesome, good to know. Thanks.
How would I go about moving my server? It's currently downloaded on my laptop, but I want to move it over to FM Cloud on AWS if I can. Do I risk damaging my database by doing this?
If you have a local file, just use FM Pro to upload your file to the server, after you get the server (FM Server or FM Cloud) set up.
Currently, my file is located on the server which is installed on my personal computer. I have already downloaded FMPS and uploaded my file to it. That's what I'm trying to figure out. Do I have to uninstall server from laptop and then reinstall it onto the FM Cloud and if I do that what will be the effect on my file?
If you already have a license for FM Server, you can use that or convert it to a BYOL FM Cloud license. I would at least try to set up a regular FM Server on an EC2 instance and give it a try.
