"Will ANYTHING in a web browser ever be able to produce a formatted print" may be a better question. This is not a FM issue, but far broader and more prolific, touching every web page ever that has existed since the days of Mosaic in the mid-80s.
As far as PDF, there are ways today to do this, none too elegant. FM might be able to make this significantly better.
Not that this completely eliminates the use case for web access, but with the addition of FMP15/User Connections, the concurrent use license of a webDirect client, can now be used by a full version of Filemaker Pro, as long as it can authenticate against FMS15 for its' license.
