sounds like you should check:
1. make sure your relationship is set to "join" parent_table::primary_key to child_table:;foreign_key.
2. make sure the data types on primary key and foreign key match
3. make sure your data in foreign key will actually produce related records
4. make sure your portal is set to show more than one related record

Can you give more information about the relationships between the tables? Are you sure the relationships are set up in such a way that there is more than one record in the related table?
Also, in the Portal Setup you can specify how many rows are shown. Have you verified that "Number of rows: " is greater than one?
Hi coherentkris thanks for your reply. I must be doing something wrong somewhere down the line.
Yes I have done that by join parent table to child table by connecting them through relation tables.
From Contacts Table (_kp_Contact_ID) ---to--->(_kf_Contacts_ID) in Repair Table.
Prior to start working with Filemaker I watched lots of videos on YouTube and honestly I found some videos confusing
I would appreciate if I may get pointed to the right videos where I can see the things done in a proper way believe me I am going made here I am not far away getting it right because I can see what I expected from the Portal but only 1 data Row. I am there but not yet.
Post the file here and we can take a look
Thanks philipHPG for your reply.
I have created a dummy database for practising yes I have more than 5 records when I draw portal there is more than 10 records can be in it as it showing it in the bottom of the portal box.
OK I will create one now and I don't know how to post an attachment.
OK I think now I know what I was doing wrong.
In the option window specifically in the "validation tab" I was not ticking the following boxes "Not Empty" and
"Unique Value" can these 2 boxes cause errors in my case?
Thank you and I appreciate your help I am going back to practice more. I have no doubt in my mind I'll be back for more help in this Forum. My mistake was not aware of the importance of FileMaker and I was heavily working with MS database.
