    Show field in portal row only on first occurence

    padje

      Hi there all.

      Is it possible to show a certain field or button in a portal row ONLY on the first occurence ?

      I have two portals on a layout, the first one is feeding the second one.

      All the data in the second portal is grouped by date. It would be awesome if I could show certain fields in the second portal only  on their first occurence.  For example the date field and the mail button  (check the attachment).  This would make my layout more clear/less cluttered.

      Thanks for any advice

          Try this: in the portal table, create an unstored! calc field - say, 'cGetRecordNumber' – defined as

          Get ( RecordNumber )

          Use the following as a Hide if calculation for portal objects:

          PortalTable::yourGroupingField // e.g. Name, or primary key

          =

          GetNthRecord (

            PortalTable::yourGroupingField ;

            PortalTable::cGetRecordNumber - 1

          )

          In English: the object will be hidden if the grouping field is the same as in the previous portal record – e.g., it is still within the same group.

          Obviously, this only works if the portal or the relationship is sorted by groupingField – but then, it only makes sense if that is the case.
