I am creating a file that has an inspection area for our employees. There are about 150 fields to insert unto a single layout for the inspection. Is there an easy way of adding all those fields to a layout? Or do I need to do them one by one?
You have a tool called the field picker that can be used while in layout mode, but it sounds you need to work with related records instead oh over a hundred fields.
What would you suggest it look like if I used related records? Where would be the best place for me to look for things like that (sorry. kind of a noob here)
While on layout mode, go to View > Field Picker ( or use shortcuts CTRL+K for Windows or Cmd+K on Mac) to open the Field Picker tool. There, you will have the option to select all the fields you need at once and drag them on the layout.
You would need to describe what you want to do in much more detail. Note that I said it "looks like" you need to do this. This is based solely on the fact that you want to "add 150 fields to a layout" with no other details on exactly what you want to do.
After you describe what you are trying to do in more detail, I might change that opinion. But what you can research is the concept of a "portal" as this is the most frequently used method for working with multiple related records from the context of a single "parent" record.
Alright I understand. So by related records, you're meaning portals. Thats a good idea, keeping things organized.
Thank you. Very helpful
