MAC, Script opening local file from remote, then 'Perform script' on that file

I am stymied on what should be simple!  FMA14, I have a remote solution that is used on multiple machines.  There is a script that opens a local database passes a variable from the remote solution that then finds the record associated with the variable or if it doesn't exist, it creates the record.

I have this working on Windows as the file is always in the same place.

The problem is on a MAC. In order to find that location (it is a folder inside the documents folder) I need to script that location as a variable to get the file to open.   However if a variable is used, the "Perform Script" step can not be scripted.

Any thoughts on how to script this so it can work on any MAC?
