For some reason when I run my script to create a pdf of the layout its producing a text document. It used to work fine prior to the latest Mac update so not sure whats going on. Anyone know how I can fix?
This is the script I use.
I think in line 3 you're missing the "$' before the "g41", so it should read:
Get (DesktopPath) and $g41
Alternatively you could simply have it as:
Get (DesktopPath) and "g41.pdf"
In your script at step 3 you are saving a document that doesn't have the ".pdf" extension, but is hardcoded to the name "g41". You need to do what Databuzz said and use the variable version of the filename ("$g41") and not the text-string "g41".
If you are using a variable you don't use quotation marks, just the name of the variable, just as you don't use quotation marks for a field name.
Yeah, what Keywords said: my use of the ("$g41") phrase was not meant to imply that's exactly what you should put into your script. You should put in a FileMaker variable reference:
instead of the quoted string:
Thank you for that. The funny thing is this exact script works perfectly fine on my laptop but not my desktop. My laptop is using the latest OS (Sierra) whereas my desktop is on the version before. I guess I need to update my OS on my desktop. Weird.
