When you try to print (PDF) a form, the borders of the fields disappear ...
any ideas ?
The layout is displayed correctly in browser mode, when you switch to preview mode the fields disappear
FMA15 / El Capitan
Would you have a screenshot with the object in Layout Mode?
Is it a very thin border (0.25pt.)?
Any chances that you accidentally set the object with attribute "Hide when printing"?
Hi Benjamin, here goes the screenshot
The lines are from 1pt.

NOT, it is unchecked
I'm located in register 23 (browser mode), change to Preview mode, and the record displayed in preview mode is record 1
I've seen that before
Rules about positioning object in portals / portal rows:
In Layout-Mode, Shrink the object/field with mouse-control to have it completely embedded within the portal row border.
Change back to Browse-Mode prior to any further adjustments. Check the result, - also in Preview-Mode.
Now, go back to Layout-Mode for adjustments.
Best practice: Have a object outside a portal with a height smaller than portal row.
Don't position the object with Inspectors coordinates into portal row but use mouse OR Arrow Keys.
Change back to Browse Mode to ensure the object is associated with the portal/portal row.
If though, you now can use Inspector coordinates for precise adjustments.
Maybe it could be the "delineate…active record only" in the layout property that have to be unchecked...
I bet, it's the "object not correctly associated with portal row" issue.
Trust me. I've spent 2 semesters at the Voodoo-Academy in New Orleans

You should be able to set borders for portal rows using the formatting palette.
here's the output. I used a combination of border settings for primary and alternate rows and the portal itself to achieve this, shown in preview mode.
