We have integrated with RightSignature (Citrix's version of DocuSign). It doesn't have all the features and brand recognition of DocuSign, but for a significantly lower cost (at least based on the pricing info we were given). It has worked fairly well in our situation and we have received fairly good support.
In our situation this involved making a number of API calls - using the free BaseElements plugin, and a single CWP/PHP page to allow for the callback for RightSignature.
DocuSign has REST and SOAP (if you are old school) API. As Philip mentioned for RightSignature, both APIs could be integrated using BaseElements plugins. It could be a bit of an effort if you are not into web development, so you might temporarily hire a web developer.
I do not think the plugin will work on an iPad though.
Good point, Nicolai. Honestly, I didn't find it too difficult to implement, but then I have a programming background and don't mind dealing with XML/JSON. Not all people working with FileMaker want to get into that.
We installed the plug-in on the FileMaker Server so that we could use Perform Script on Server from all client machines without having to worry about the plug-in being installed locally.
Server side plugin is a very good tip. That would solve issue with iPads, at least locally.
