I believe you are referring to the use of "Set Allowed Orientations" in FileMaker 14. You might see Set Allowed Orientations is not supported in iOS 9. It was basically a change of design for iOS that removed the idea of forcing a set orientation.

Sorry, I had to take a break for a while, I was getting burnt out! Yes - I was referring to the "Set Allowed Orientations", I was a bit unclear there. So now with iOS 10, no way to restrict the orientations... bummer. Now it would seem that I will need to make two layouts (for each layout, one in portrait, and one in landscape) so it doesn't look terrible when the user rotates the device?
